So we were sent a lovely email by the curator of the newly founded Shindig nights in Cambridge. This Saturday, the St Pauls Centre plays host to a wonderful array of entertainment set out for the people of Cambridge. If you want to see what I mean, this is an extract of the email.
Born out of boredom and disenchantment with the typical “3-band gig” format, this exciting new Cambridge-based night aims to bring you music, art and performance mixed together in an interesting space. Each SHINDIG night has a different feel and a completely different line up, with performers from all disciplines - from spoken word to cabaret and everything in between.
July 14th sees the third installment of the night, set to feature acoustic loveliness Like Spinning London’s Hella Better Dancer, and Cambridge’s own Model Staggs. Aesthetically, the venue will host an interactive visual art piece by Krisztián Hofstädter. We will also be joined by electronic musician Spire Craines, for an experimental piece between acts. Expect more by way of spontaneous performance thrown into the mix too!
Sounding fantastic right! Doors at 8 at the St Pauls Centre on Hills Road, with tickets priced at £8.
